We recommend booking as soon as possible — ideally before or shortly after your baby arrives. Slots fill up quickly, especially around popular ages like 3, 6, and 12 months.

Booking in advance also lets you plan around your baby's schedule and allows time to discuss themes, props, and outfits ahead of the session.

Most families start within the first two weeks after birth for those precious sleepy newborn poses, then continue monthly throughout the first year.

Each month captures something new — from first smiles around 3 months, to sitting up at 6 months, to standing and that all-important first birthday milestone.

There's no 'too early' or 'too late' — every stage has its magic.

We always ask when your baby is at their happiest and most alert.

For most little ones, that's mid-morning, around an hour after a feed and a nap.

We'll always work around your baby's natural routine — just let us know their schedule when you book, and we'll find the perfect slot together.

Here at Mark Swinford Photography, we donate 10 free sessions per week to local clients, all we ask, is you pay a £10 non refundable donation to Lullaby Trust via our diary system.

The session includes one free desk size (7x5) print of your choice (must be the same image that can be entered into the "Baby of the month" competition.

You will be offered additional prints / discounted packages etc at your viewing appointment.

A fed, rested baby is a happy baby!

Try to schedule the session after a nap and a feed, and bring along anything that soothes them — a dummy, a favourite toy, or a familiar blanket. Dress them in easy-to-remove layers so outfit changes are quick.

Don't stress if things don't go perfectly to plan — we're very experienced at working with little ones and we always allow plenty of time.

Simple, soft outfits in neutral or pastel tones photograph beautifully and keep the focus on your baby.

Avoid busy logos or bold patterns. We'll often suggest a few outfit changes during the session to give you variety — bringing two or three options works well.

For certain ages we also offer themed props and wraps in the studio.

Absolutely, and we love it when they are!

Baby-only shots are always included, but having parents, siblings, or even a beloved pet jump in for a few frames makes for truly special images.

Just let us know at the time of booking so we can plan the session accordingly.

This is completely normal and nothing to worry about.

We never rush a session — there's always time built in for feeds, nappy changes, and cuddles.

Our studio is warm, calm, and designed to help babies settle quickly.

In the very rare case that a baby simply isn't having it, we'll happily reschedule at no extra charge.

After you have been in to see your images at the viewing appointment, we ask for 8-10 weeks to produce everything, as all orders are bespoke to each client, we take time to craft the best quality and hand make all our portraits.

This is sometimes less depending on what you order on the day.

If you need the images for a special date, let us know and we will try our best to make sure everything is ready.

We are very transparent about our pricing, with a large range of products and packages available.

Our prints start at £95 if purchased as a one off and discounted the more you order.

Our hand crafted, framed wall art start at £355 going up to approx £1,500, with many sizes and finishes between.

We use "Pay It Monthly" and can offer interest free 12 month payment plans, these are for orders over £500 & subject to approval.

This is one of the most asked questions, the answer is yes!

Digitals are priced the same as our prints, the more you order, the cost reduces. Plus the digitals are often included free when you purchase a package too.

We take as much time producing our high quality digitals as we do, with all our products. Please do not consider them as a cheap alternative, but remember you can print and share them as amany times as you wish, so they do represent great value for money.

We have free parking on the private road adjacent to our studio. On arrival, pop your registration number into the ipad in our reception. The parking is just for our clients and makes our studio extremely convenient to families with babies.

We are extremely easy to get to, we have bus stops outside our studio, Horsforth railway station is just a five minute walk, and we are 15 minutes drive from Leeds Bradford airport!

All our portraits are completely private to each client, if we want to share them on our socials / marketing etc, we will ask first and require a signed model release. If you have any concerns, ask at any time.
